DJ Purdy
Rachael Purdy started her DJ life after purchasing a set of 1210’s and practicing like mad in her bedroom, entering herself into mix competitions until eventually coming runner up in the Breaks FM mix competition and winning the Truckers Café DJ competition.
With over 10 years experience DJ Purdy started life as a club DJ, playing in London’s hottest venues. With her own weekly Saturday radio show on Vybe FM she bought the most uplifting, funkiest breakbeats to her loyal audience. Also playing as part of the Vertical Breaks outfit she donned the decks at festivals and national events as well as co promoting club nights. Venues Purdy DJ’d at this time included… (London) Turnmills, Herbal, Clockwork, 333 & Bar Vinyl. (Watford) Pane & Table, Taylors. (Dunstable) Saracens Head. (Hemel Hempstead) The Society & Indy Jax. A few years before meeting Luke and starting Juicebox, Rachael co promoted a night in Hemel Hempstead called ‘Fractured’, which was a club night that celebrated both Indie & Breakbeats. Venues included The Society & Indy Jax, Hemel Hempstead.
Currently DJ Purdy plays at Juicebox Indie nights that she co promotes with Luke Hinton. London venues include Proud Galleries, The Ramshackle, 333 Motherbar, Bloomsbury Bowling Lanes, The Good Ship. The Horn, St Albans, The Flag, Watford, The Function Rooms & Indy Jax, Hemel Hempstead.
Outside of Juicebox DJ Purdy has also been invited to play regularly at the following venues. (London) Water Rats, Underbelly Hoxton Square, Camden Barfly, The Grey Goose (Clapham) & Smoke (Tooting) Also DJ’d at Peter Doherty after show party in Paris.
